In Chapter 2 the reference to the nurses case study seems redundant

You seem to be repeating yourself when you map in the nurse scenario and map it to how the same is true for programmers. I think if you stick with just the programmer and maybe if you really want move the nurse specific case study to an appendix it would work better. |

I just came across the book today, downloaded the sample pages, and I have to agree that there’s what appears to be quite some filler fluff in the pages that I have seen so far. Between the nurses and the cooks, and repetitions on how experts differ from novices, I was quite disappointed. I own a few books by Pragmatic Programmers, and the titles I own didn’t disappoint, so it was surprising to see what appears to be a departure from content in favor of filler. That also makes the glowing reviews of the book (presented as quotes) look odd. Would love to hear what others who have read the whole book have to say about the “signal to noise” ratio. |
