finished first 3 chapters...feedback

Hi -

Well, I finished the first 3 chapters. As a complete newbie to EE, but an experienced C/Java/PHP programmer, I found these extremely valuable, well paced, well priced, and well done. I like the 30 minute time period – I have a short attention span. I look forward to more.

The single biggest suggestion I have is that the screen font is too big. It would be nice to have more info on the screen. The second suggestion would be to ditch the safari browser for firefox – but, that’s more of a personal preference, I suppose.

The topics I’m most interested in are the following: Setting up user authentication and private member areas. Setting up subscription levels, like the typical “bronze, silver, and gold”, where bronze is free, and the other require a payment, but with a free trial period, and cancellation. Dealing with programmatically generated content, like a stock chart, where, when a visitor requested a chart for a IBM, I would read price history from yahoo, generate an image via calls to gd, and embed the image in an embedded template.
