Hi,

While watching the screencasts, I noticed live editing via Textmate, saving the template(s) as file.

Q: How is this achieved? ...more specifically what application is being used other than Textmate?

Thanks in advance,
Arthur

While snooping around, I found the following application that might do the trick.

Hi Arthur. During the screencasts, I run the site on my local machine, so TextMate is just saving as a normal file. If I’m editing on a remote server, I use Transmit from Panic.

There is a technique out there to open remote files as tabs in TextMate: http://muffinresearch.co.uk/archives/2006/06/13/use-tabs-in-textmate-for-remote-files-opened-by-transmit/

Hope that helps!

Ryan: it would be very helpful if you could describe how to configure a local machine to be an EE server in this scenario—not all of us are very knowledgeable about this aspect of configuring a machine, and your advice would be very helpful!

I for one am also using MacOS with TextMate, so my configuration might be identical to the one you use in the screencasts (even down to the MissingDrawer plug-in!) :-)

Tony.
