PDF Code font changed?

I just downloaded the Beta 6 PDF and I think the font used for all the code samples has changed from the last version. It’s definitely different from all the other Pragmatic PDFs though. Anyway, the font is awful. It’s difficult to read and should really be changed to be the same as the rest of the Pragmatic books. |

I just looked at the same code-heavy page in my grinds of beta 6 and beta 5 and they’re identical. Is there a specific page or chapter that looks wrong to you, or is it a problem throughout? Are you reading with Preview, Adobe Reader, your iPhone, or something else? If you think there’s a problem with the file itself (and not with fonts or software on your end), you might want to shoot off an e-mail to support [at] pragmaticprogrammer [dot] com, so Andy and Dave can look at it. Thanks. |

Just to add my POV, everything looks exactly the same here. |

Very weird. As it turns out, when I open the PDF in Preview, the font looks off but when I use Acrobat, it looks more like it should. Any of my older Pragmatic PDFs still look like they should in both programs. I didn’t think about trying a different program since I’ve never had an issue with any of their PDFs before. I’ll fire off an email to support. Thanks for the verification guys. |

As an update, I emailed support and Andy got back to me right away. This is apparently a known bug in Preview and a reboot cleared the whole thing up. Last thing I would have thought of…I thought I was done with reboot fixes since I dropped Windows! ;-) |

Hi Jason, rm -rf 'getconf DARWIN_USER_TEMP_DIR' Then just restart Preview.app. Hope that helps. |

I had the same problem with 3 updates I just downloaded. I thought I was going crazy…. Dirk, your solution did not work for me, but a reboot did. |
