Images in PDF

Hi Daniel -

Thanks for the book, I’m really enjoying it so far!

I just downloaded the Jan 5th edition, and I saw the note about correcting image compression in the beta. However, the images look pretty gnarly on my end, worse than I recall from the previous beta. Is this something on my end, or did the new images not make it in yet?

Other than that first listing in the introduction are they all worse? I think I’ve fixed that one for the next push but the others should be clearer than they were. Let me know if they’re not.

I do see fairly heavy artifacts in images throughout the book. The images are definitely readable (some more than others), but they do look too compressed.

Thanks for your quick response, and I apologize or the delay in mine. I’ve very much enjoyed the book so far (this is my second run through it), and love the beta process! Thanks for your work.

I haven’t seen the other beta versions, but I must agree that the majority of the images suffer from heavy artifacts.

Sigh—I’ve just reencoded them again.
